Press Releases | September 7, 2022

Mark Ricketts

COLUMBUS, OH – National Church Residences’ Board of Directors announced today that Mark Ricketts, only the third president and CEO in the organization’s 60-year history, has decided to retire June 2023.

“Mark Ricketts has been an outstanding and inspirational leader in making National Church Residences the largest, most successful non-profit provider of independent senior affordable housing in the U.S.,“ said Peter Vogel, Jr., chair, National Church Residences Board of Directors. “Mark embodies the compassion and professionalism our organization stands for, and leaves a strong team prepared and committed to advancing better lives for seniors, wherever they call home.”

Ricketts has served as president and CEO since December 2014, leading a team responsible for caring for more than 46,000 seniors through 2,500 employees in 24 states. Ricketts has been with the organization since 2000 and under his leadership the organization has seen incredible growth in all areas of the organization, elevating the nonprofit to a unique national organization that provides homes and services to seniors no matter their age, income or ability.

“It has been an honor to serve the mission of National Church Residences to improve the quality of life for older adults,” Ricketts said. “God called me here 22 years ago, and now he’s calling on me to serve my family and my community while I have my health and energy to commit fully. As our next generation of leaders continue our mission, I look forward to their amazing impact yet to come.”

“Our organization has demonstrated remarkable resiliency and leadership in the face of unprecedented challenges,” Vogel said. “Mark is giving us time to work with our strong leadership team to plan a seamless transition. As we conduct our search for Mark’s successor, both internally and nationally, we will continue our laser focus on providing and championing high quality housing and services for our nation’s older adults, and to ensuring a diverse workforce that is loved, valued and respected.
