National Church Residences Names Susan DiMickele New President & CEO-Elect

Press Releases | April 12, 2023

Susan DiMickele

National Church Residences’ Board of Directors has named Susan DiMickele the new president and chief executive officer of the nation’s largest non-profit provider of affordable housing, only the fourth president and CEO-elect in the organization’s 60-year history.

She will step into this role on June 30 when the current president and CEO, Mark Ricketts, retires.

DiMickele currently serves as Senior Vice President of Senior Living and Senior Services and has been with National Church Residences for nearly seven years. Prior to joining the organization, she was a partner with the Squire Patton Boggs law firm, where she co-led its global Labor and Employment Practice Group.

“Susan is a seasoned business leader and has already made a significant impact on the organization,” said Greg Overmyer, chair of the National Church Residences Board of Directors. “Susan has the experience, the leadership qualities and, most importantly, embodies our mission to serve and improve the lives of older adults across the country.”

DiMickele served as the organization’s first general counsel, established the legal department and has recently been leading efforts to diversify the organization’s service offerings.

“National Church Residences is a strong and resilient organization with thousands of employees across the U.S. who are committed to serving seniors every day,” said DIMickele. “I am excited to accept this incredible honor to lead this great organization and its long-standing commitment to serve and uplift our nation’s seniors.”

DiMickele also thanked Mark Ricketts, the retiring president and CEO, for his leadership and mentorship. Ricketts announced last fall his plans to retire at the end of June.

“It’s been the honor of my life to lead National Church Residences’ mission,” Ricketts said. “It excites me to see the next generation of leaders – and all our employees – continue National Church Residences’ incredible mission of service. You’ll be in good hands with Susan, and I applaud the board for making an excellent choice.”

Under Ricketts’ leadership, all areas of the organization grew, elevating the nonprofit to a unique national organization that provides homes and services to seniors no matter their age, income or ability.
