National Church Residences is pleased to announce election of new Board of Directors members Sandra Brummitt, Ervan Rodgers and Kim Zavislak, who began their service on January 1, 2023.
Sandra Brummitt joins National Church Residences’ Board of Directors with more than 20 years of senior financial executive experience. Brummitt serves as chief tax and procurement officer at NiSource, one of the nation’s largest fully regulated utility companies serving areas across Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Prior to joining NiSource, Brummitt was senior director of global tax reporting at Walmart and spent more than 15 years at Exelon, a Fortune 100 power and utility company. Brumitt currently serves as treasurer for the Center for Healthy Families, board member for Gladden Community House and on the advisory board for the African American Leadership Academy. She is a member of the Taxation Committees for the Edison Electric Institute, American Gas Association and U.S. Chamber of Commerce and is a lifetime member of the National Association of Black Accountants. Brummitt holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Maryland and a bachelor’s degree in business economics with an accounting emphasis from the University of California.
Ervan Rodgers brings a wealth of executive expertise spanning business processes, information technology and software systems deployment, as well as project, operations and customer relationship management. Currently senior vice president and chief information officer for Designer Brands, Rodgers also has held leadership roles with Huntington National Bank, Accenture and Hewlett-Packard. His experience includes advising several Global Fortune 500 clients, including ATT, Chevron, General Motors and MCI WorldCom. He also has served as the chief information officer for the State of Ohio and for the Ohio Attorney General’s Office. Rodgers holds a master’s in business administration in information strategy, systems and technology from Muskingum University, and a bachelor’s degree in organizational Leadership from Spring Arbor University.
Kim Zavislak offers extensive insights into the investment management industry, serving as office management partner and asset management partner for KPMG, LLP, considered one of the “Big Four” global accounting organizations. She also is a partner in KPMG’s audit practice with broad experience in providing business and financial reporting guidance to a wide spectrum of SEC registrants in the financial services industry. Zavislak is actively involved in the Columbus community, serving as co-chair for the Ohio Chapter of Women Corporate Directors and a board member and development committee co-chair for Junior Achievement of Central Ohio. Her volunteer experience also includes service to Lutheran Social Services of Columbus from 2006 to 2014. Zavislak received her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Hillsdale College.
