“First of all…I will start by saying the facility and staff are both amazing! My dad started in the independent apartments and eventually went into memory care. The level of care he received by the staff is beyond excellent, and we were so thankful for them. I will also say that Sue in the business office is top notch and on top of billing, insurance, etc and responds quickly to any questions and concerns. The facility is clean. The food is wonderful. All good things! However….we unfortunately had to leave Legacy because we were hit with 3 price increases in approx. 18 months. When we hit the 10k/month mark we had to step in and start questioning why. We are self pay, so as a family we could not sustain that kind of cost. We looked at several facilities in the area, and the next most expensive was $8400/month. When I called Steve Throop, the director, and tried to talk to him about this I was met with a condescending tone and an unwillingness to work with us at all. I asked if he could price match the next most expensive facility because we really wanted to stay, and was told "the price is the price" and shut down immediately. I asked what justified another price increase and what extra they were going to do, and was told "we'll, you dad has to get eye drops now" (For the record he got 1 drop in each eye every day) And they were weighing him twice a week instead of once. That was his justification. I also mentioned that every facility asked us if we were using hospice for things like depends, wipes, meds, wheelchairs etc. We were NEVER told that this was an option the entire time we were there. We paid for all of that out of pocket for 18 months. When I asked Steve about this his response was "we only call them if someone has cancer or is losing weight " Ultimately we had to move my 88yr old father from Legacy because of greed. He didnt understand what was happening and is still adjusting to a new facility, but luckily is doing ok. I understand this is also a business, but the absolute audacity to keep raising prices to extreme levels like this when nobody else in the area is that expensive is gross. And shameful to seniors. This is not a skilled care facility, and yet he is charging skilled care prices. Again….huge thank you to the staff for the wonderful care he received while he was there. We will forever be grateful. If you can afford Legacy I highly recommend it. But if you're self pay….. BEWARE!!!!!”

“What an incredible independent senior living community! From the beautiful surroundings to the welcoming atmosphere, everything about this community creates a true sense of home. The staff are friendly, attentive, and genuinely committed to making residents feel valued and respected while still maintaining the independence and freedom that are so important. There are wonderful opportunities for socializing, activities, dining, and making new friendships, while residents can enjoy their own routines and lifestyles. The community is clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, and there is a wonderful energy throughout the entire community. It’s reassuring to know that residents can enjoy an active, fulfilling lifestyle in a safe and supportive environment. I would highly recommend this community to anyone looking for an exceptional independent senior living experience.
