About The Golf Classic
National Church Residences is the nation’s largest not-for-profit developer of affordable senior housing. As an innovative leader in integrating home and support services for seniors and vulnerable individuals, we are committed to helping people live healthier, more satisfying lives.
The Tenth Annual National Church Residences Golf Classic provides an exclusive opportunity to play 18 holes at the world renowned Muirfield Village Golf Club.
More than $2M has been raised through the Golf Classic to benefit National Church Residences Permanent Supportive Housing programs, Residential Memory Care and the Volunteer Chaplaincy Program. Funds raised have been used for resident employment services and medical home practices as well as for the continuum of services provided by National Church Residences to individuals with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease and their caregivers. Proceeds have also allowed National Church Residences to expand and enhance the Volunteer Chaplaincy Program.
According to a study conducted by researchers from the University of California, San Francisco, 43% of seniors report feeling lonely on a regular basis and that lonely seniors are more likely to decline and die faster than their socially active counterparts.
National Church Residences is committed to transforming the way that seniors live and thrive by employing a holistic approach to the care we provide, recognizing that this includes the physical, emotional, social and spiritual well-being of those we serve.
Proceeds from this year’s Golf Classic will continue to help support our Volunteer Chaplaincy Program. This program serves individuals of all faiths and beliefs. Our Chaplains are dedicated to providing support, comfort and guidance to all seniors – whoever and wherever they are. We recognize that spiritual care is health care.
In addition to our Chaplaincy Program, your support will help move our mission forward in our Adult Day programming.

Home of the prestigious Memorial Tournament since 1976, Muirfield Village has been consistently ranked in the Top 20 in the United States and Top 50 in the world since it opened.
Muirfield Village Golf Club has hosted The Ryder Cup, The Solheim Cup, The President’s Cup, a U.S. Junior Amateur and a U.S. Amateur Championship.

Mary Lou Retton catapulted to international fame by winning the All- Around Gold Medal in women’s gymnastics at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, becoming the first American woman ever to win a gold medal in gymnastics. The five medals she won that year were the most won by any athlete at the 1984 Olympics.
Today she continues to touch the lives of millions. A national survey found Retton to be the most popular athlete in America. She is in great demand as a motivational speaker and corporate spokesperson and also travels the world as a “Fitness Ambassador” promoting the benefits of proper nutrition and regular exercise.
