Residents of Live Oak Village in Aransas Pass, Texas, are but the first to understand the suffering. Though they were safely evacuated and are now living either with family/friends, in evacuation shelters, or other temporary housing, they will not return to their own homes for many months, thanks to Hurricane Harvey. When they do, many will return with very few personal belongings.
Next came Hurricane Irma, hitting our properties in Puerto Rico, Florida and Georgia. Finally, Hurricane Maria, which has devastated Puerto Rico. Our properties are intact, but the needs for food, water and supplies are huge as the island begins a very long recovery process.
Your financial support is needed to help our residents, particularly the hardest hit in Texas and Puerto Rico, with immediate needs (food, toiletries, etc.) and long-term necessities (new bedding, furniture, kitchen supplies, etc.)
This fall, hurricanes have impacted 37 of our properties: 10 in Texas, three in Puerto Rico, 14 in Florida, and 10 in Georgia.
