Recruited to serve on the board in the 1960s by Rev. John Glenn, National Church Residences founder, Blaine has been a board member for most of the last five decades including multiple terms as Chairman.
Before retiring with his wife JoAnn to National Church Residences First Community Village, Blaine practiced law in Columbus for 10 years. He also was a successful Lumberman, owning various lumber companies that included Blaine Lumber, Cotton Lumber and Arlington Lumber.
Blaine possesses a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, a Juris Doctorate from The Ohio State University, an MBA from The Ohio State University and a Ph. D. from Century University.
A graduate of Columbus Academy High School, Blaine served his country as a Navy pilot in both World War II and the Korean War. During his career, Blaine has received the Thomas Jefferson Award, the Clara Barton Award from the American Red Cross, the Golden Achievement Award, and the Pope John Paul II Award, signed by Pope John Paul II.
In his retirement Blaine is a writer and has published 14 novels.
