STAY UA Program Advances Upper Arlington Fire Division to EMS Agency of the Year

6/7/2017 | Recent News

National Church Residences’ STAY UA program, a partnership with the Upper Arlington Fire Division, is recognized as a contributing factor to the fire division’s recent EMS Agency of the Year Award for 2017.

STAY UA (Services to Age in Your Upper Arlington) is a service coordinator program that links seniors who call 911 with services that they truly need, once it is determined that they do not require medical care. As a result, seniors and residents with disabilities gain access to more appropriate health care services and can stay safely in their homes.

The STAY UA Service Coordinator can connect residents to the following resources:

  • Links to community services
  • In-home skilled nursing
  • Prescription assistance
  • Access to meals
  • Transportation assistance programs
  • Counseling
  • Adult daycare
  • Hospice
  • Home safety surveys and solutions
  • Financial planning assistance
  • Access to social networks

Since the program’s launch in 2009, National Church Residences’ STAY UA has assisted over 800 residents and families. It is believed to be the first formalized program of its kind in the country.

In May 2017, the Upper Arlington Fire Division was the recipient of the EMS Agency of the Year Award. They were selected out of 1,300 EMS agencies across the State of Ohio. We commend them on their great work and look forward to our ongoing partnership.
