New Life for an Atlanta Landmark
A 1910 landmark will get a 21st Century makeover to serve people who need supportive housing, announced National Church Residences. The Imperial Hotel in downtown Atlanta will undergo a comprehensive renovation that will also preserve its historic architecture. To achieve this transformation, National Church Residences joined forces with Columbia Residential, a nationally recognized Atlanta-based developer of multifamily affordable housing communities
Since 1996, the building has provided affordable housing, especially for people with special needs, but it required major repairs. Working with the state of Georgia and City of Atlanta, Columbia Residential and National Church Residences purchased the property.
