Employee Testimonials

"I was in nursing school so I wanted to get a job as an aide. They were willing to work with my schedule and train me. I’ve been here ever since.

They just remodeled all of it. It’s a nice facility to work at. If you have a question, the staff is really nice and easy to work with. It’s also a huge company, so that's very good. If you want to transfer or move up, you can."

"I get along very well with my co-workers. They make you feel like family, and the residents are awesome. I started out in long-term care. This is not the first place I’ve worked, but it’s definitely the best one I’ve been in.

I’m contingent now. I float and work at all the units. It’s kind of nice to have that variety. You get exposure with all types of patients. I get to see a little bit of everything. It’s a good thing. You get to experience things first-hand. When a new person comes in who needs a specific kind of care, you can say, ‘Yeah, I’ve done that before.’"

"I applied here because I knew about the company’s reputation and the quality of care provided to the residents, and it’s a place you can grow in your career.

I’ve received a lot of love, respect and attention. If you have an issue with something, there’s always someone to go to. I’ve learned a lot about making residents’ care our number one priority, and I’ve been an STNA for nine years. We’re a very hands-on facility. And it’s definitely the nicest one I’ve worked in, for sure.

In my orientation they talked about ‘the FCV experience.’ They even have t-shirts that say, ‘I am the FCV experience.’ I’ve really grown into being a part of what that mean. It is truly an experience to be part of First Community Village."

"I love what I do. I love getting up and coming to work and making a difference in someone’s life. It’s a rewarding job. I like that in nursing-home rehab the turnover in patients isn’t as high. Friends I know who work in hospitals have told me their patents come in, they get better and they go. Here we get the chance to build relationships with our patients. I really like being able to care for somebody over time. I love being able to help them get dressed and make them feel like a normal human being. Not just someone who sits around in a gown all day. That’s why I’ll never go to a hospital. I like my career here."

"The consistency of care is above and beyond. Everybody works together. Patients are at the center, it's not about doing what’s best for the company and cutting corners.

It’s a great work environment. Everybody is involved in helping you be successful. They’re not going to just throw you away to the sharks.

I’ve heard nothing but good things about [National Church Residences]. They have so many aspects as a company. You’re able to get involved in so many different things. It’s a positive impact on the community as a whole."
